Suzannah Gerber, or Chef Suzi is an ethical vegan, an executive chef consultant, an educator and a medical outcomes research specialist. As a medical researcher, she focuses on the efficacy of a Plant-Based Diet for lifestyle intervention in the reversal and prevention of chronic illness and disease for a major medical group in the Washington DC area. Although Suzi was a vegan in the 90s, Suzi went “humane omnivore” in the 2000’s, but in 2009, Suzi developed a major chronic illness that debilitated her for over 5 years—and was cured in less than 1 month of being vegan. After discovering that her story was not atypical, she dedicated her career to helping others transition to veganism, working primarily with restaurants and the medical industry on the best ways to make vegan foods more accessible, and with artists and activists on food justice and animal liberation missions.
